SSD & RAM Upgrade on Inspiron 7560

But drive configuration is also not fine according to the support page here for the 7560. 

it shows 
Hard drive Up to 1 TB
SSD Up to 512 GB 


So will my device support 1 TB M.2 SSD  ? 

The drive configuration is fine and will work. But 24 GB of RAM is not a compatible total as specified in the support page here for the 7560. You can have 4, 8, 12, 16, or 32 GB of RAM total. Though the specs seem strange since you can have an 8 and 4 GB RAM module for 12 but not an 8 plus 16 for 24. Be that as it may the best configuration is a matched set of RAM for 32 GB if you want full dual channel operation.

As I always say, Dell manuals are good reference for what was sold with the laptop.

But in no way does it reflect the hardware limitations of the laptop.

Yes your laptop will support a 1TB or 2TB M.2 SSD.

Your laptop will also support a 1TB or 2TB 2.5" SSD/HDD.

24GB may be possible.

But only the first half [8GB] of the new 16GB will be used in "Dual Channel" mode.

As stated a set of matched pairs would be best.

Absolutely it will. The reason that 512 GB is listed as maximum is because it is the largest SSD Dell has tested it is not the largest compatible. Also remember that is a SATA M.2 SSD and not an NVME.

Last question, 

Is there any way to use M.2 NVMe SSD?

As I can see dell says only M.2 SATA SSD are supportable and NVMe is not supported. 
But I have checked on Amazon & other e-commerce sites that peoples say 7560 support M.2 NVMe SSD.
Also, some blogs and dell community answers say it will not support NVMe SSD.


Please help me to choose the right SSD because today all e-commerce sites don't support the return of purchased electronic items.
So if I purchase SSD and if not the SSD is not supported then I have no option to return it. 

It is M.2 SATA only and the Dell spec page bears that out. There have been other posts from users that tried to use NVMe and it failed. Sorry but SATA only. Now will an M.2 SATA outperform a 2.5" SATA...no they have the same specifications as to speed, around 550 MB/s.

Which one will be better in performance? 
You can also suggest any other SSD rather than these two.

The performance is identical (with the exception noted below) as are most M.2 SATA SSD. I have used both and for the cost saving found WD to be reliable drives at a good price. The only difference with a Samsung is the Samsung Magician software. In rapid mode it uses some of the system RAM as a cache. That increases speed in read write performance.

The only one I can speak about is the "Western Digital WD Blue m.2 SSD"

I use the same SSD to populate the "High End"CF-54's we refurbish.

Very good performance and very reliable.
