Support assist stopped working, or doesn't appear to work
I downloaded Dell's Support Assist PC doctor module after my dell laptop computer's warranty had expired. The program worked ok until about three months ago. Whenever I try to optimize my computer lately, the date of my last optimization is three months ago. If I optimize two days in a row, each time I open the program I get the old date. After running the program, I get a current date. I use the program the next day, the date it has when I open the program is for three months ago.
I don't understand why this is. Is the program even still working? Should I uninstall it? Does it need some kind of subscription service? I don't get it.
The first few times I used the program it seemed to help out. It doesn't seem to do much of anything now.

I'm having the same problem. I'd like to troubleshoot hardware (battery) but the Support Assistant doesn't respond. Perhaps some other utility will work (better).

I contacted Dell about this via e-mail, and they simply ignored me. They keep sending me messages to run support assist even though it won't open. It is really annoying. They apparently don't care if their programs are working or not.

Had same problem. The update **bleep** it up. here is how to fix it. Uninstall support assist. Download support assist installation file from dell.com. Right click installation file. Click on "run as administrator".Bingo fixed.
