System boots fine, but when attempting to access BIOS screen stays black
When I restart my DELL Latitude E7240 notebook, when I see the DELL logo, to enter the BIOS settings screen, I press F2 but the screen remains black.
If I press F12 instead I enter the boot settings screen.
I also tried to connect an external HDMI monitor but that too remains black.
How do I enter the BIOS to change the settings?

Please don't wait until the Dell logo to start tapping F2 (bios) or F12 (Dell Preboot Menu) keys …..
1. Power off system
2. Power on system, quickly start tapping F12 key continuously until you see Preparing One Time Boot Menu in top corner of screen.
…….same as tapping F2 key continuously until you see BIOS setup.
