Update Inspiron B130 to new software
Hey! I happen to have a old Inspiron B130 Home edition and I want to update it to Windows 10. Would I be able to do this, and would it be worth it to do this?

Centrino is not a CPU - it's a term for a combination of an Intel CPU and network adapter. That said, the CPUs on these are old enough that you may find Windows 10 1709 the end of the line as to what they'll support. Microsoft started requiring CPU-based support for technologies that did not exist when your CPU was designed after the release of 1709.

The Inspiron B130/1300 is a 15 year model from 2005 which came with Windows XP 32 Bit Home. It won't run new versions of Windows very well especially as there is no Windows Vista or later compatible graphics driver (a slightly modified XP driver could be installed on Vista and 7 but I don't think it can be installed in Windows 10 giving a poor display).

Does it have Windows 7? If so, you can use the product key to activate Windows 10.
I would do it if it has Windows 7 product key.

1. You didn't mention how much RAM it has, but unless you have 4 GB, it is not worth it to install Windows 10.
2. Even if it has 4 GB of RAM, a legitimate copy of Windows 10 is going to cost you at least $110.
If it was me, I would spend that money on a new laptop.
If it has 4 GB of RAM, I would try installing Linux Mint on it. https://forums.linuxmint.com/viewtopic.php?t=261969

I do not know how much RAM the thing has, but I do already own a copy of Windows 10 - and has been successfully used on another PC.
Is there a way to find out how much RAM my PC has?

That copy of Windows 10 cannot be used on the B130, since it was already used on another PC.
Go into BIOS and it should show you much RAM you have.

Some of the newer releases of Windows 10 have in fact made some older systems obsolete -- newer versions don't work with older CPUs. What CPU do you have in the system?
