Very dim display 7567 Gaming
Hi all, My laptop's screen has had a very dim display lately, And I'm not sure why.
I'm using it as I normally would, I haven't damaged it or washed it or anything that would have an obvious effect on it. It's really annoying as it have to shut all the curtains in the room I'm in, even though the sun's barely shining in, and if I don't I have to squint, and it hurts.
Any ideas?

Does the display dim on battery and with the adapter plugged in? I assume you have the brightness turned all the way up? Is the display fine when plugged into an external monitor? Run system diagnostics. Restart the system and at the Dell splash screen start tapping F12. Run full diagnostics focusing attention on the LCD results. If that looks good and an external monitor is good, then it is possible that the LCD inverter is starting to have problems.

Thanks for your help, and for helping out people in your own free time. I have gotten in touch with phone support and am getting a replacement screen sent as the current one seems faulty. Thanks!

You also only inform us that you have a Latitude. "No model number"
This thread is about a dim display and not about FPS and lagging.

A low-quality presentation can be probably the simplest imperfection to see, and for this situation, it very well may be considered to overcome a portion of the motivation behind purchasing a gaming-focused PC, which is to make games look better.

Try this...
1. Go into "Control Panel" and then "Power Options".
2. Click the "Change plan settings" link next to which ever plan you are currently using and then click "Change advance power settings".
3. In this new window click "Display" to open up the listings under it.
4. Now locate and click each of the following..."Display brightness", "Dimmed display brightness" and "Enable adaptive brightness".
5. Change each of these to the settings you wish, then click the "Apply" button and finally the "OK" button.
6. You should be good.
