Week Old Inspiron 15 keyboard back light not working
Just got my laptop a week ago and the keyboard illumination has become intermittent.
If I press on the bottom of laptop it goes out.
My question is, can I return it and buy a new one or do I have to send it in for repairs?

I was feeling adventurous so I took a look at the laptop. I re-seated the ribbon cable, re-locked the connector and all is well now. Thanks to all.

If the system was purchased new, direct from Dell, you can request a replacement system or a refund within 30 days after shipment.
If it was refurbished, the period is shorter.
If it was purchased anywhere else, you will need to contact your seller.

Start with technical support. If they can't solve the problem, insist on a refund or replacement.
One other thing to consider: a refund and then a new order restarts the 30 day clock; replacement will not.
