Windows 10 activation after installing windows from dell os recovery tool
I'm using Dell G5 3579 (with Windows 10 pre-installed), I'm planning to add a new SSD to the SSD slot in my laptop. I plan to use the dell os recovery tool to create bootable USB drive from the existing HDD and install the OS to the new SSD. However, I'm not sure if I need further windows 10 activation after windows 10 installation on the new SSD. Or is there a better way for me to migrate the OS from HDD to the new SSD? Any helpful answer would be welcome.

Activation is automatic for Windows 10. The product key is stored in the BIOS, and Windows uses that for activation. Just make sure the architecture (32 or 64 bit) and the Windows edition (Home, Pro, etc) is the same as what came installed with the system, and you shouldn't have any problems.

I don't use Dell OS Recovery Tool, so I can't help.

No worries! You shouldn't need to worry about activating Windows 10 if you use the Dell OS recovery tool to migrate your OS to the new SSD. The activation key is tied to your hardware, so as long as you're not changing major components, you should be good to go.
