Isilon Gen6 Frontend Connectivity

Question

Hi All, IHAC who wants to connect some Nodes of a Gen6 Cluster (A200) on a 1GbE Switch. Is this possible/supported? Are the 10G Frontend Interfaces are 1GbE enabled? many thanks for hints.. regards uwe

UweNaumann No, the NICs on Isilon are not auto-sensing.

Gen6 A200 nodes all have a single 1Ge port in addition to two 10GigE ports.  Just plumb those up, you don't need to use the 10Gig ports.

yes i know about the 1GbE Interfaces on Gen6 Nodes.... But the main question was, if it is possible to connect the 10GbE ports on the A400 Nodes on 1GbE Switchports? regards Uwe

But keep in mind that you don't have LACP with only one network connection. The 1Gb port is normally used for management.
