OneFS 8.0.0.2 isi event alerts modify doesn't work

The event alerting on OneFS seems to be dead set on sending alerts on Informational stuff. I have tried removing Information from all of my smtp-sending alerts, and yet it remains.

See the following:

dm11-2# isi event alerts view alert1

      Name: alert1

Eventgroup: -

  Category: 100000000, 200000000, 800000000, 400000000, 500000000, 900000000, 700000000, 600000000, 300000000

       Sev: *

   Channel: smtp1

Condition: NEW EVENTS

dm11-2# isi event alerts modify alert1 --remove-severity=information

dm11-2# isi event alerts view alert1

      Name: alert1

Eventgroup: -

  Category: 100000000, 200000000, 800000000, 400000000, 500000000, 900000000, 700000000, 600000000, 300000000

       Sev: *

   Channel: smtp1

Condition: NEW EVENTS

dm11-2#

Anyone have any ideas?

Interesting... playing on a 8.0.0.2 virtual node:

Sev: *

is what I get after

isi event alert mod 'ConnectEMC New' --clear-severity

so it seems * (meaning any) is used when none has been specifically selected.

From there, the following work just fine

isi event alert mod 'ConnectEMC New' --severity emergency, critical, warning

and/or

isi event alert mod 'ConnectEMC New' --add-severity emergency, critical, warning

resulting in

Sev: ECW

I actually have a slightly same topic question.  What are the default values of alert1?  I was troubleshooting a celog email issue that was created when we went from 7.2.x to 8.0.0.4 and I accidentally deleted alert1 in the Alerts ui area (did not notice that it was alerting on eventgroups, was looking at check boxes only, duh.)  Are the values you have here what should be in alerts1?  We have a similar cluster running the same version and was upgraded from the same version and doesn't even have an alert1 so . . . not sure what I should have in there.

I kinda got that feeling trolling through support.emc.  I am thinking it was some configuration that came forward from 7.x.  We never made on but maybe it's a gift of the herky-jerky upgrade process'.  I took at stab and at it being alerts on /var/crash and /ifs filling up, conditions you'd probably want to get on top of.  Thanks.

never seen "alert1" -- I'd simply guess someone has created it on the cluster, so it was completely custom

and you can rebuild it as needed, or go without.
