Hi there,
documentation is not as exact as I wish it would be, so maybe someone here can help me or tell me if this is working:
Does SMB Continuous Availability also work well with Dynamic IP Pools? Or will it only work with Static IP Pools?
Solved! Go to Solution.
SMB itself doesn't "work well" with dynamic pools because of its stateful nature.
SMB CA overcomes the limitations of static pools where IPs do not fail over between nodes.
It is therefore of no additional help with dynamic pools, so one is still stuck with the "not well working" SMB functionality when IPs move dynamically. Which means applications experiencing read/write errors until explicit re-connect -- with the extra risk of loosing some recent -- already confirmed -- writes.
