Message: The snapshot daemon failed to create snapshot 'ScheduleName_duration_2013-05-23-_23-00' in schedule 'prod_nfs_share': error: Multi-schedule collision

OK I think you have same snapshot patterns for different snapshots schedule.

Change the Naming Pattern for Generated Snapshot as follows to each policy.

Snap1      Snap1_%Y-%m-%d-_%H-%M

Snap2      Snap2_%Y-%m-%d-_%H-%M

Snap3      Snap3_%Y-%m-%d-_%H-%M

By default "ScheduleName_duration" parts wouldn't change even if you modified the policy name.
You have to modify it by yourself.

Is OneFS version 7.0 or later,  or 6.5?

I'm afraid have no experience of OneFS 7.0, but you probably find Snapshot logs in

/var/log/isi_snapshot_d.log in each nodes. Could you try to find anything?

thanks,

Masahiro

Hi go.y,

probably you right same schedule name for 2 shares at same time is the issue, i changed the naming pattern now will see how automated schedule works tonight at 11pm.

Question: u mentioned " I am using OneFSv7.0.2 for test but I can make different snapshots at same time. "

is onefsv7.0.2 is out already for GA ? i am waiting for 7.0.1.4 to this new version upgrade due to multiple issues

Oh, sorry it's just a typo.

Correct version I'm testing is OneFSv7.0.1.2.

I think OneFSv7.0.2 is not GA yet.

However, current RR is OneFSv7.0.1.5.

So I think you should get the OneFSv7.0.1.5 from downloads.

we are going to have large number of snapshots for both SMB & NFS so is there any crontab kind of job schedule available in isilon ? bec we don't want to login each day to findout how many snapshots are there and how much space they are occupied. we need email notification of these 2 components everyday.

You can write perl/bash/korn scripts and use “isi snapshot ….blah” commands to write your own reports and then email them out.
