SyncIQ, CIFS and Switching over
Just finished the Admin and Adv. classes and still dont have a clear picture. I come from a Celerra background and have the VDM / File system replication mindset that I know I must shed. So I'm hoping for real life experience examples/answers.
What I need to know, how have others replicated their data, and then brought the resources online to test.
For example
Isilon1 - PRIMARY array
Isilon2 - TARGET array.
Isilon1 has CIFS1 and all shares.
SyncIQ replicates data directory and all sub directories..
Where I get fuzzy is where are the "shares kept"? In the Celerra world its all contained in the VDM and the VDM can get replicated.
So if I wanted to fail resources over to TARGET array, I'm just not clear how that is do that. Any help is appreciated.
Thanks,
dynamox
