5160 freezes at windows shutdown, only after using preinstalled aol 9.o, any ideas?

got 5160 for a few weeks.  love it except for the fact that the system freezes while waiting for windows to shut down.  but that only happens if i have gone online using preinstalled aol 9.0 software.  if i do not go on line during computer session, the 5160 shuts dowm without a problem.  anybody have any ideas?  this is getting real annoying.
