5650go owners read this & Sideband Addressing

I noticed my lattitude d800 with a 5650go was performing poorly after I installed the new drivers that Dell released recently for this card.  My 3dmark 2001scored decreased by almost 3,000 points from 9,800 to 7,012.

I did a bit of research and decided to install coolbits+ to determine the preset clock speeds for the video card.  This registry setting(coolbits) enables a new screen showing memory and vid chip speed settings.  To my surprise the vid card was set at 190 core and 290 memory.  Far lower than the standard settings posted for the card by Nvidia and other web sites.  I pushed the reset defaults tab on the overclocking page that was enabled with the Coolbits registry setting and whamo my laptop is now working properly.  Actually, there is a button on the overclocking screen that was set to 2D mode, I had to change that to 3D mode to get the better default settings.  The new settings (default) are 325 core and 590 memory. I am not sure if this button appears anywhere else.

I wanted to feed this back in case others were having this issue of decreased performance after they installed the new drivers.  Possibly there is another way to change the default but I could not find it.  Anyone from Dell add to this?

My second question is this..... on the AGP tab that is also enabled the "Fast Write" box is checked but the "Sideband Addressing" box is not checked.  When I try to check it and select "Apply" the check to enanble this feature dissappears.  Therefore I assume that the d800 is not capable of sideband addressing??  Is this true?  I looked in the BIOS and did not be a setting for sideband..
I believe that this feature is only available on VIA chipsets not intel so if you have the same issue don't bother trying to enable...

I downloaded the NVidia drivers from www.omegadrivers.net , clocked my card up to 325 Mhz Core and 593 Mhz Memory and got 3dmark 2001 up to 10,600.......   When I let the overclocking program decide what to set, it had the memory clocked all the way up to 1 Ghz, but I turned it down....lol.

With the Omega drivers I was able to get the "Sideband Addressing" box to stay checked.  The Omega drivers say that the card is capable of Sideband Addressing.

Also now my Half Life 2 does not stutter when I play it full tilt........

Thanks for the info..... Actually my Sideband is checked and stays checked with the new Dell drivers.  My score now is in the 9,800 range @ 1024X768 docked with a regular monitor.  Looks like we are real close in scores.  There is also a fix that was recently posted on the Dell Support site for a fix for the speed step issue that I was also having with the processor.  It seemed that if I booted on the battery and then plugged it to AC the processor stayed at the lower speed.  Now with the fix installed all seems OK.

I have a 1.7MHZ
