Admin password set on Dell Precision M4600 BIOS

I purchased a second hand Dell Precision M4600 Workstation recently.

But unfortunately I discovered the previous owner setup an Admin password in the BIOS.

My question, is there any way of removing the password or resetting the BIOS, that won't cost me anything or if it does cost, the cost will be minimal.

You first need to have the registered owner's information so you can transfer ownership to your name.  If you can't get that from the seller, return the system for a refund.

Once the system is in your name, you can then call for a master reset password - the call will cost about $60 in the US.

Or pull the BIOS battery, wait a while and install it again. Then no password?

Hello,

Any feedback regarding this, I have the same issue

BIOS options are displayed in read only mode

There is an unlock button that's asking me for a setup password

I disconnected the BIOS battery, pressed the power button for 10s to drain residual power

Then waited for some minutes before reconnecting the BIOS battery

But still can't unlock the BIOS
