Alienware M17X - Restore Alienware logo at Boot
Hello
I just purchased an Alienware M17x and recieved it a few days ago.
It was a Raid 1 setup and not too long into it I recieved a message that Raid status was 'degraded' Port 0 error
I then did an express test in Diagnostic and recieved error message 0F00:133C msg: no suitable disc media present.
So today I called Alienware support, and we ended up having to delete Raid, Recreate Raid 1 and thus install Windows 7 Ultimate by disc.
That all went well and very good support I will add.
Later another person helped with installing drivers. That seems to have gone fine also. I requested that I get my Alienware logo and Wallpaper back, but she just downloaded the Wallpaper.
I do wish when one has to restore Windows 7 from the discs, instead of being able to use the Recovery partition, that the laptop would be back to what it was when shipped to me from factory. So for this part I am not so impressed, especially seeing I just bought the laptop.
I no longer have the Alienware boot process, meaning the logo etc. I have the Alienware Head BIOS , then just Windows 7 normal startup screen. I used to have the Red Alienware background before Windows 7 loaded.
I also had to download the AlienGUIse Theme Manager with Breed Theme which seems to be Stardock MyColors. It was in My Dell Downloads, so I am assuming this is the theme.
Is there any way I can get the Alienware logo back? Just seems like a regular laptop without it.

Never tried this but may work for you.

I had the same thing happen to my laptop with not startup image but don't really care if it is there or not now.

Thanks I will try that. I had seen that before. I just figured the Dell tech was right in my laptop installing things, so why they couldn't have restored it to factory themselves. But this should be fine. :emotion-2:
