Anyway to Active Window not loose focus with on-screen display?

Whenever I change the volume, there is on-screen volume meter display appears

and it take about 5 seconds for it to disappear.

The problem is it becomes the active window while it is showing,

In other words, the active window that I was working on looses its focus for that 5 seconds.

And I have to wait for that 5 seconds or click on the window that I was working on to get the focus back.

Is there anyway to make the on-screen display not take over the focus?

I tried turning off the on-screen display for the volume meter from quickset tray menu

but I want to keep it on if I can make it not take over the focus of the active window.
