Backup in safe mode to an exgternal hard drive
Hi, I am having a problem with my Dell Alienware 13 R2, I keep getting two different crash codes so I want to back up my wanted documents to an external hard drive in safe mode but the drive would show up in the driver manager but would show up in the "This PC" on windows 10

Safe Mode only loads the basic drivers and services. Perhaps what you need, such as a USB 3.0 driver is not available.
If your system is stable in Safe Mode, then you are exactly where you need to be to try repairing your install but reverting to different or older drivers for some device which might be causing a problem.
Are you getting dump files from the crashes..?

Hi, if their was something causing my computer to crash and their was a dump file I wouldn't be able to find it.

Two things, a crash doesn't mean you have no access. You can gain access by booting to external media.
But it may not make a difference.
