Battery not charging (plugged in, not charging)
I have a Dell Inspiron N4020, Service Tag <ADMIN NOTE: Service tag removed per privacy policy> . First, the ac adapter with which it was supplied stopped functioning. That adapter would heat-up and its light would faintly blink but it did not give out any current. Then I went and shopped another Dell ac adapter with the same techical specifications but my laptop has 'rejected that new adapter'. The battery information bar on my laptop tells me "plugged in, not charging". In the BIOS, the adapter is shown as unknown. What do I do to rectify this problem? Community forum, please help me out.

Hi Frommars,
Welcome to the community.
It appears to be an issue with the motherboard. In this case you can add me as friend and reply via a private message and I will let you know the next course of actions.
Also please refrain from using the service tag number/any personal information in the forum so that your privacy is not compromised.
Glad to be of assistance.
