Battery status light Blinking red

Hi

I have Dell Studio 1555 model laptop, my Adapter won't charge my battery(my friend also have dell studio 1555 and his adapter charge my battery!, so my battery is OK), there is a little light up the adapter input place on laptop(beside power button), it is blinking red(orange)  continuously from last week, can anyone help me to find out what's problem?
