Blank screen on Inspiron 1545 laptop
My daughter's laptop has started playing up yesterday. When you switch it on the logo comes up and the "welcome" screen flashes on briefly, but then it just goes black.I have connected it to an external monitor to test it, and this works ok. What could be the problem?

The two most common causes are a bad backlight or inverter (assuming it's not an LED backlight - those don't have inverters).

The thing is, it works ok in "safe mode"!

Hi,
Welcome to the Community. If it works fine in safe mode, then its a video driver problem. I suggest you update your video drivers, by logging on to support.dell.com, click on home user, click on drivers and downloads, enter your service tag or select your system mode, and download the video driver.
