Blue screen after reformatting hard drive and installing Windows
I was having problems with blue screens occurrances on my Inspiron 6000 with Windows XP Media. Still got them after I reinstalled operating system, so reformatted hard drive and installed Windows XP Media. I still am getting frequent blue screens. Any suggestions as to what is happening?

Top of the list for an old system like this would be a failing hard drive. Run an extended diagnostic (F12 at powerup) on the hard drive -- do the 90-120 minute exhaustive test, NOT the quick 10 -minute one.
