Blue screen when running CISCO vpn 4.03 client

Question

Hello all,
I am getting a blue screen when I try to run CISCO vpn 4.03 client
It does not matter wireless or by LAN
I have updated all drivers and the BIOS (V11)
It is a Dell D800 the error is
Error code 1000007f, parameter1 00000008, parameter2 80042000, parameter3 00000000, parameter4 00000000

I can find no info from this code other than it seems a hardware problem.
I have re formatted tried a earlier version of the VPN client
pre and post SP1 & 2
Nothing seems to help. I would appreciate any ideas.

We have a loadset, WinXP SP1, Cisco VPN 4.3. We also use Office 2003. Except we use D600. I have seen some other issues with the D800, the only thing I see that's different between the 2 machines, is video. Try locating a reference driver (generic Nvidia) on the net.. Whenever problems like these come up, its almost always video. The 2 machines are almost exactly identical, but we don't experience any problems.... my guess is, its mainly due to Video incompatibilies.. We do have 4 D800 machines, and none of them have reported a single incident, but they are running Windows 2000, Office 2K...

Hi. I had a similar blue screen problem on my Inspiron 5100 related to my video card (Radeon 7500C). My computer wouldn't play games with blue screening, and then it started going to blue screen every time I booted up.   It all started after installing a CISCO VPN client, though I didn't think it had anything to do with the problem until now.   I was installing different drivers but nothing was making any difference. What finally fixed it was using this little utility, Driver Cleaner: http://www.drivercleaner.net/. I used it to remove my video drivers (and only my video drivers), and then reinstalled the original drivers. It must have gotten rid of some persistent corrupted driver file that wasn't being over-written. I hope this helps somebody; it was driving me crazy.

Every time I install the Cisco VPN Client v 4.6, when I reboot, both my nic cards on my D800 stop working.  I can't get them to do anything.  I end having to reformat my PC to fix this issue.  Anybody run into this before?

Earlier versions of Intel WiFi software can cause BSOD when using certain VPN clients.  Try updating your Intel Pro Wireless software.

All drivers are updated.  I think it's a compatibility issue with one of the NICs.  I have the intel pro wireless and the Broadcom wired NIC.

I have a similar situation.  Just got a D600 with the 1450 dual band mini-pci card and a Broadcom 570x Gigabit Integrated Controller.  I run the Cisco VPN 4.03 client.  I disabled the Broadcom adapter and connected with the wireless, the system works fine.  As soon as I run the VPN Client the system blue screens.   The event log show a bugcheck with 0x1000007f (0x00000008, 0x80042000, 0x00000000, 0x00000000).  When I disable the wireless adapter and run with the wired (Broadcom 570x Gigabit Integrated Controller), the system runs fine.  I can then bring up the VPN Client and run all of the applications with no problems.  Is there a conflict between the 1450 mini pci adapter and the Broadcom?

One very interesting fact...I noticed via Device Manager that the Cisco Systems VPN Adapter was disabled.  I enabled the this adapter and fired up the VPN CLient.  Now the applications are working.  Go figure...

I reformatted my machine and loaded the wiFi first then loaded and ran Cisco. It all worked fine Then loaded the drivers one by one running cisco between each one. Typical, the last driver I loaded was the Bluetooth apps driver As soon as this went on it all fell over again. I tried a roll back I tried to delete the driver nothing worked. Re formatted and loaded a different (older) driver for bluetooth and (touch wood) all is working fine.
Oh and yes, SP2 XP

I had a similar situation with Inspiron 2200 which has Dell dual band 1450 mini pci wireless adapter.

Whenever i try to connect with cisco vpn client, there is a core dump (blue screen)

Is this resolved for you.

The problem has gone away, just as mysteriously as it came.  But, my local IT guys reloaded the VPN client just the same.  They thought something got corrupted.
