Bluetooth audio receiver not working after upgrading to Windows 8.1 - Dell Inspiron 3521

It was fine with Windows 8.0 Several times I ran System Analysis in the Drivers section, installed those. Today also installed the Realtek audio driver. Still n/g. The receiver shows paired, but can't connect. In Devices and Printers the PC icon has a yellow indication, and on the bottom of the screen shows "Driver error' I click Troubleshoot, it installs 3 different Bluetooth drivers, but results in Not Fixed for all 3. At this point I've installed a direct connection from the headset output to my stereo amp input. I don't know if there's anything else I can try. The laptop was purchased 6/2013, so is out of warranty.
