Boot to usb

Dell Inspiron 15-5578: So far am quite happy with my choice of this laptop. However; some day I may wish to duel boot to Linux mint. I am unable to boot to USB; even a Windows 10 iso. I hesitate to disable secure boot because I read where another poster couldn't boot to W10 after disabling and re-enabling. So can anyone here on the forum advise me on the correct procedure to enable a USB boot.

Another ? unrelated. Can I dispose of all these extra partitions; re-install W10 and go from there? I have my own ways (Acronis True Image) of restoring the system.
