C840 display.. more than 60Hz?
How do I set my display to more than 60Hz? I upgraded the nVidia drivers and video BIOS. It says 'default monitor' for display. My res is 1600x1200 & using 32bit color. I would like to raise the refresh rate to as high as possible. How can I? Is 60Hz 1600x1200 the highest? I am on XP SP1. What is the name of the display, what drivers do I download to update it?

Flatpanels are are technology completely different from CRT-Monitors. Due to the fact that flatpanel displays are not able to flicker it's no use raising the refresh frequency. There are some newer flatpanel monitors which are capable of syncing ( showing a non distorted picture) at higher refreh rates, but your one isn't capable of doing it. There is also a transmitter logic incorporated in your notebook (in any notebook...) that should prevent you from setting up wrong frequencies for the builtin display (means any higher or lower than 60hz). So just stick to 60hz and be sure everything is alright.
