CPU Upgrade

Hello,

I have a laptop Dell Vostro A860.

MotherBoard :  DA0VM9MB6B0 or M712H (Dell)

Processor : Intel Celeron 560 (1M Cache, 2.13 GHz, 533 MHz FSB) Socket mPGA478MN

I want to upgrade my processor. I need a suggestion please.

I found this one Inte Core 2 Duo T5670 (2M Cache, 1,80 GHz, 800 MHz FSB) .

Is there any processor better than this? Or this is the better i can use?

Hi vppoulis,

Apart from Intel Celeron 560 we have tested the following processors with this machine with positive results:

  1. Intel Core 2 Duo T1400, 1.73,512,2C
  2. Intel Core 2 Duo T2390, 1.86,1MB,2C
  3. Intel Core 2 Duo T5670, 1.8,2MB,2C
  4. T5470, 1.6, 2MB, CMER
  5. 2.0GHz, 1MB cache, 800Mhz bus, Intel T2410, MEROM, M0 Step, Dual Core
  6. 2.13GHz,1 MB cache, 800Mhz bus, Intel 560, MEROM
  7. 1.86GHz,512K cache,2C, 533FSB, Intel T1500, MEROM
  8. 2.0GHz, 2MB cache, 800Mhz bus, Intel T5870, MEROM, M0 Step, Dual Core

Last four processors (5, 6, 7 and 8) are better in speed.

Hope this helps.

I'm really comfused now.

Hi vppoulis,

My mistake, except for “2.13GHz,1 MB cache, 800Mhz bus, Intel 560, MEROM”; rest of the processors are dual core and hence faster. I mean processors indicated with “core 2 duo”, “2C” and “Dual Core”. T5470, 1.6, 2MB, CMER; is also a Core 2 Duo processor.
