Cannot increase refresh rate for NVIDIA NVS 5200M due to not active "Customize" button.
Hello community members,
I have an hdd changed on my latitude e6430. After IT returned laptop I wanted to change refresh rate to 80Hz instead of default 60Hz. However, "Customize" button in NVIDIA Control Panel is inactive. In BIOS it shows that system display adapter used is INTEL, and it does not give option to manually switch to NVIDIA. There is a tick in box for Optimus, but still it seems that INTEL is the only dispay adapter active.
What could be done to enable "Customize" button in NVIDIA Control Panel. (Basically make NVIDIA primary display adapter)?

Check your BIOS setup (f2 at powerup). If you see a setting there that allows you to set the primary display adapter, that's where you make the change.
If you don't see such a setting, you have a software-controlled switchable video system - aka "MUX-less" where only the Intel GPU is wired to the display, and all video data is routed through the Intel GPU even if it originates in the nVidia GPU.
The newer E64xx and E65xx systems are MUX-less -- I don't know if yours is but the absence of a BIOS level switch will confirm that it is. If this is the case, there is no way to make the nVidia GPU primary.

I have unticked box for NVIDIA Optimus Technology in BIOS, and that`s unlocked "Customize" button in NVIDIA Control Panel. Finally set refresh rate to 81Hz. Strange, I thought ticking the box would make NVIDIA active, however it is vice versa.
