Computer turned off on its own and won't come back on

I have an inspiron 8200 and I was using it like I normally do.  The computer just shut off on its own and now won't turn back on.  I checked the battery and it his full power I don't know if that means its still good or not or if its somthing else.  What should I do to fix this?

I had the same problem with a brand new Inspiron 9100 less than 2 weeks out the box. I worked with Tech Support to identify the problem but none of the components (RAM, HD, DVD drive, etc.) seemed to be the problem. The tech support person concluded it was an issue with the motherboard. I'm having to send mine back.

I have a 1150 that I got less than a month ago and it won't come on. The power light and the battery light are on, but the system won't turn on. Is this what yours was doing?? Do you think that I'll have to send mine back?? I talked to tech support earlier, and they couldn't think of anything else, but I got cut off. Please let me know, and thanks for posting your message...I was starting to worry. Thanx

You could have 1 of 2 problems;

(1) the motherboard is shot.  SOLUTION:  replace mobo (at great expense)

(2) you computer isn't coming out of hibernation (ie: in a coma). SOLUTION:  unplug the AC adapter, flip over and pull out the battery, return to upright and plug the AC adapter back in, try to power up. If that works, turn off and put the battery back in, you should be fine from then on. I have had this happen on several laptops (Dell & Apple)
