Connect D610 Audio to Sound Board
I would like to connect my latitude D610 to a sound board for amplified sound. The receiver is a standard female microphone jack. The setup would be -
Laptop > Sound Board > Speakers
Anyone know how I can do that?

Normally you would just connect the computer's headphone/line-out jack to the board's mic jack with a stereo audio cable using the appropriate adapters to mate the jacks. However the mic jacks on a soundboard are usually mono, so you would need to plug into 2 of the board's mics jacks and pan them hard left and hard right, respectively, to get a stereo result.
You can get a cable at radio Shack or any place that sells audio gear, to do this. The end that goes into the computer will have a stereo 1/8 inch mini plug, and the other end will branch out to two mono plugs. You might need adapters on these 2 plugs to mate them to you mic jacks especially if the jacks are standard 1/4" 'phone' plugs. Make sure the adapters are mono if the mic jacks are.
Turn off or lower the mic pre-amps on the soundboard because the computer will be sending out a line level signal that won't need pre-amping like a mic signal would.
