D420 SPDIF Passthrough

Hi all,

 

I've tried for the last hour and a half looking through search results here and on google (not counting wasting time installing drivers that don't work) so I'm not too optimistic at this point. Basically, I have SPDIF working fine for PCM, but I can't get anything to pass data straight through the SPDIF port on my Inspiron D420's port replicator.

I'm using Windows XP, and I've tried using different kernel streaming outputs in Winamp and Foobar2000, none of which work. I've also tried the passthrough option on AC3filter, which says "SPDIF passthrough not supported". 

 

Has anyone got the SPDIF passthrough to work with the STAC9200 chip?

I have the same question. I would love to output SPDIF through the D/Port.

Currently have Ubunu 10.04 installed.

I was able to generate the following from the System testing application:

Now I'm not a Linux expert by *any* stretch. Can anyone decipher this?
