D800 boot up with black screen

Jusrt reinstalled a new OS, XP pro sp2. The partition was formated first and it´s no more partitions on the HDD. When installing all the drivers in the correct order (this seams to be very important on D800) I came to quick set and after reboot the computer don´t boot up. It´s like the process stops after just 2 or 3 seconds. Black screen. Tried to have the cd in and it starts up but nothing more, black screen only. I can hear the hdd start but no more sound after these 2 seconds. Just spinning in fine. Tried to press Fn + F2, just F12 on power up but no result. The screen stays black!.
The drivers installed is the latest ones from dell homepage, not the ones from the cd whisch come with the comp..
It´s bought 2003.

Thanks in advance!MrSorry writing on his latest laptop, PrecisionM70 that works fine.

you need to try an external monitor to see if the lcd or video card has all of a sudden gone bad and also as soon as you press the power button tap the f8 key to get yourself into safe mode and uninstall that quickset program from add and remove programs and if you want to then run the preboot system assessment build diagnostics and see if the hardware is ok with the system off hold down the fn key and press the power button let the power button go but continue holding the fn key it should get you into the diagnostics it will say diagnostic boot selected on the dell splash screen hope this helps

My D800 also does this,
I spilt Vodka and Coke on it this time last year, which stopped it from running on internal power, but it pravailed to fight another day.
Then 6 months ago, I had formatted it and after spending a few hours installing drivers, it just died. The LED's would come on for a bit, as would the HDD and the CD drive would look for a CD, but nothing on the screen.
Having saved up £140 I found a motherboard on eBay, so with new plastics + palm rest I swapped all the bits over to the new board, and when I booted it up... EXACTLY the same thing!

I almost cryed.

I then reached the end of my teather, and submitted to handing it in to a local shop, who tested the hardware, and said its either the MB, which they said was unlikely, or the Video board...

Does anyone know where I can get a good spec *yet cheap* video/graphics card from?

I've tryed eBay to no avail.

Any help greatly appreciated!
