DELL INSPIRON N5010 8 BEEPS AND WEIRD SCREEN

I understand it could be upsetting not to be able to use the computer. 8 beeps for this computer model imply that the LCD might be faulty. If you are comfortable, you can try reseating the LCD cable. Here is the link of the manual: http://dell.to/MfRKle . If reseating the cable doesn't help, then try replacing the LCD cable.

I am following up on behalf of Dell_Appu_S. I received your message regarding the replacement of the cable. The 8 beep codes determines an LCD failure as the LCD cable is less expensive and in most cases it resolves the issue, we suggested you to check the cable. Also, where was the new cable purchased from? However, as it is still not working, you will need to replace the LCD display.

sir i got new cable.

after some old techniques i got it started. but it's still giving me the same problem,

" like works fine without installing graphics driver, but when i install problem starts again,

other then lcd is working fine."

i mean when i use standard vga memory(16 mb, resolution 1024*768) it works fine, but after installing ati driver

i use 512 mb dedicated memory and 1366*768 resolution it stops working, screen gets blured, vertical lines, little squares, etc

Hi Subhash,

If the display is working good on a lower resolution. It may be an issue with the graphics card or driver. I would advise you to uninstall and re install the graphics driver.

To uninstall the graphics driver:

• Click Start> type in Device manager in the Search box> Press enter.
• Under Display adapters right click on the video driver and click on uninstall.
• Once it is uninstalled, restart the system.

sir, i tried this option many times.

even i formatted my laptop harddisk many times............

but i couldn't succeed.

now recently i tried to reset it's LCD cable again.

cable is working is fine.

but when i tried to start it, it started automatically as i attach my battery to it.

so i disconnected my battery,

then i tried to run it only by adapter( by detaching battery).

it starts on and gets off automatically againg and finally it stopped. Can it be problem with motherboard?  Currently i am in Guwahati . around i called some person who works in dell(as he says), he told me my motherboard definitely has problem. he told me the solution was to change my motherboard.

please help me,

I am going home ( JAIPUR , RAJASTHAN-302015) around 30 november, please tell me if u have any Dell authorised centers there. so that i can get it repaired. i also broke some it's part during repairing it by myself. (touchpad ribbon, power on off ribbon, wifi cable ) .

Seems like the motherboard is creating the issue, and would need to be replaced. You can check the link below for the contact details and address of all the Carry-In Service Centers in India. There is one in Guwahati and one in Jaipur too.
