On powering on, it gave an 8 beep response endlessly.Sometimes fading
On connecting to an external monitor, it used to give a display but lately that failed too
I noticed that this problem occurred mostly when I used to turn off all lights and AC adapter before going to sleep and then after 9gaging for 15 mins I shut the lap.The next morning was met with 8 beeps usually. (This may be a superstition)
Ive searched enough forums and tried everything!
Tried BIST test
Reseated CMOS battery
Removed flea charge by holding down power button
Checked LCD cable
all others mentioned in various forums
But today I put myself to shame by finally giving it to the repair shop.He used his multimeter and immediately told me this part (circled in red) had to be replaced. He called it Display IC. In Indian rupees, it cost me 1200 rupees (20 dollars). And voila! It's done!
I do not guarantee if this will work forever but I will keep you guys posted if anything goes wrong. I made this dell account specifically to help people like me. :emotion-43:

Thanks for your reply.
I did try connecting to external monitor.
I was only able to see the Dell logo screen which appears on the external monitor, that only half screen from top.
What else I should do to resolve this problem.

Hi Default_DellUser,
The 8 beep error code indicates a display failure, connect an external monitor and check if the display works?
Depending on the warranty status we can help you further, please use the link below to check the warranty status.
