Dell D620 Multimonitor system not working correctly in Presentation mode

I've looked through the forum discussions and some are close but not quite the same. I have a Dell D620 docked with dual monitors, works as expected. After 'undocking' moving over to a conference room for a meeting connecting the presentation projector, the display reverts to a dual monitor configuration with the LCD being one display and the projector being the second, with the desktop extended to it.

We've tried unchecking the 'extend desktop to this monitor' for the projector. This results in the projector not having anything displayed. Pressing the FnF8 to turn on presentation mode, which should work, results in the whole thing returning to step 1, with the desktop extended to the projector.

We've also tried changing the setup to a single monitor (same desktop displayed on 2 monitors) prior to undocking and updating the vidoe drivers, nothing has any effect, the projector still behaves the same.

Anyone seen this?

Thanks.

Miguel

When you want the same display on the lapptop and the projector, try this.

Right click on the desktop screen. Choose Graphics Options, then Output to... Choose Intel Dual Display Clone, the choose Notebook and Monitor....
