Dell Inspiron 1300
Hello Everyone,
Im new to the community and I'm hoping someone can assist me with a problem I am having with my laptop. The current operating system is Windows XP Home Edition.
When I start the computer up it begins as if it is booting up (Windows screen comes up), but just when it seems as if the login screen is about to pop up, the screen that tells you windows was shut down incorrecty and do you want to start the computer in safe mode appears... The problem is no matter what option I choose to start windows, it keeps going back to the Windows screen and then to safe mode start up screen in a continuous loop.
My question is how can I at least "fix" the computer at least to the point where I can get logged on....

Start with the Dell diagnostics - F12 at powerup. Run an extended hard drive test.

You can also try running a Windows System Repair. Boot up to your Windows XP CD and run the 2nd repair option....
