Hi,

If that option is not available, you can charge the battery to 100% and can use it with AC adapter of the computer. Once you connect the adapter to the system , it stops consuming the battery power and only works with adapter only .

Hi,

If I understand you correctly, you are referring to Inspiron 5423/14z.

You can follow the steps below to disable battery charging and use the computer on AC adapter:

  • Click on Windows logo on desktop.
  • Type 'Power options' in search bar above that.
  • Click on Power Options.
  • Check for the 'Battery Health Meter' among the different options on the left side of window.
  • Check for battery health and check if the battery charging is disabled.
  • Check the box for 'Turn off the battery charging'.
  • Restart your computer to check if the issue is fixed.

Also, you can check the manual of your computer from the link below:

ftp://ftp.dell.com/Manuals/all-products/esuprt_laptop/esuprt_inspiron_laptop/inspiron-14z-5423_Owner%27s%20Manual_en-us.pdf

Copy and paste the link in address bar and hit enter to view the system manual.

Please reply for further clarifications.
