Dell Inspiron 1525 won't power up
My Inspiron 1525 was running and I sat down and touched a corner of it and I'm pretty sure I gave it a static shock. It shut down pretty quick and now when I try to power it up, the screen is totally blank, the fan runs, and I get nothing else. Any ideas on what I can do?

Wow! I got it working! Before I even read your message, I found another similar post and the replies said to remove the battery and try to power up which I did and now it works just fine!
No more warranty, so I was panicking, but now it seems to work just fine, even with the battery back in. Should I buy a new battery?

You could try a hard reset. Unplug the power adapter, remove the battery, hold down the power button for a few seconds.
Other than that, I hope it's still under warranty.
Good luck

Glad you got it going.
The laptop must of sensed a high static voltage and went into a type of shutdown coma to protect the system.
That proceedure was just to do a hard reset on the laptop.
Why would you think you need a new battery?
