Dell Inspiron 6000 Drivers
Hello,
I recently did a clean Install of Windows Vista on my Dell Inspiron 6000. It failed. (See here: http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/windows_vista-windows_install/after-windows-vista-installation-i-get-this-error/ce911aef-fb1a-40c8-b85d-42b4d9e8d1b1)
I was Upgrading on two reasons:
1. Support is ending for XP.
2. I didn't really like XP.
Since it failed, I had been looking into other operating systems. I was doubtful that Windows 7/8 would work since they were released AFTER Vista.
My computer before this laptop had Windows ME, and I really liked it. So I bought it off of Amazon and Installed it.
I have a few hardware gripes, but no software ones:
1. Display resolution is set to 640x800 with 16 colors (can't change the settings)
2. No sound
3. No Wi-Fi
I tried installing the following drivers:
1. Display Driver said that the Video Card hardware/software could not be found.
2. Wireless driver says: Error "Setup 1528" Setup cannot continue.
3. Sound driver said it installed, but no sound.
Other devices in device manager lists 2 PCI Cards, 1 Ethernet/Network Controller, and 1 PCI Multimedia Sound Card.
Please help!
