If your computer has Fast Access Facial Recognition Software, then...

Start Skype. Click on tools, options, video settings. From the drop down menu select FA Virtual Cam.

I am having the same issue with my n4010 as well, I honestly think its some type of fault with the computer and the new software dell had us download, my laptop is brand new as of this year, so its the company's fault. I still have warrenty I will be contacting them today since none of these post have helped.

After update my camera has no been detected, now im unable to do anything since I was told to remove the program.

Telson.

I have exactly the same problem with my  Dell Inspiron N4010  i5 equiped with Window 7 Professional 64bits and Integrated Dell Webcam Central 1.3M, 14/15/1764.

I tried to follow the procedure you described but imaging devices never show in device manager. Even when i tried to use  "Add lagacy hadware" procedure after the search integrated webcam does not appear in the list of manufacturer and model.

Is there any procedure to follow to bring back Imagine device with integrated webcam into device manager drop down list.

Plaese your help will be highly appreciated.

I have the same on an XPS 17 - started a thread on here that no one has bothered to respond to yet.

How many people have to say they have this problem beffore Dell recognise there is an issue with either hardware failure or compatibility - mine stopped working after a Windows update. An external webcam works fine.

Updating webcam central wont fix it

Updating/reinstalling the driver wont fix it

Chippyrajan,

Try restarting the computer first and see if it comes back.

You said it was working, then try a system restore point to see if it works, again.

Can you still login with your Fast Access Facial Recognition Software?

I don't know why Dell won't publish any Webcam driver/software for the integrated webcam used in laptop.

I found the following  Dell Webcam Central software (full version).   My laptop is not listed int the "Compatibility" section but it works like a charm to me.  But I am not sure if it will work for you.  You may give it a try.

Chippyrajan,

Sorry for the delay, work. If the laptop is under warranty, contact Dell Tech Support.

Near the clock, for Dell Webcam Central, you should see the Dell Webcam Central icon.

Double click on it. You should then see...

Click ok. You'll then see...

Click on retry. You should then see this...

If you see this, then when you close the Dell Webcam Central, then you'll see this message...

This shows that Dell Webcam Central is working. It works with Fast Acces Facial Recognition.

Webcam is not functioning    (Installing Dell Webcam Central)

For Fasss Access Facial Recognition(FA icon), near the clock you should see...

Right click on the FA icon and click on about...

You'll see if you have the current version...

Go back to the clock area, and double click on the FA icon...

You will be asked to allow, click on. Then you see this...

I use mine for Face login only. So the settings above is what I use. You can click on web logins and you'll see this...

If you click on Advanced and you get this screen...

If you do NOT have version 2.4.97, then click on check for updates. Fast Access Dell Support Page may help with some questions.Sensible Vision Support

Now for Skype. I recomment going to...

Start, control panel, programs and features and click on skype, then click on uninstall. When it's done installing, restart your computer.

Download Skype 5.3.0.120 and install it.

Open Skype and log in.

Click on tools options Video settings. If the dropdown menu has Integrated Webcam, I see this...

If I select FA Virtual Cam from the dropdown menu, I get...

Not sure which part you don't have. Please try these thing and let me know what functions work and which ones don't.
