Dell Latitude e6420 screen blank
My screen went black after i went to "adjust screen brightness" then click on power saving then i turn it off the brightness. I couldnt turn on the brightness with anything. I tried to restart and make the screen brightness up on keyboard but it doesnt work

From what it sounds like the battery somehow shorted out parts on your l;ogic board. It does not sounds like a new LCD would fix this, but anything is possible. It will be easier to exchange the LCD, but somehow I would think that this is a bad LED driver situation. Try a new LCD and see what happens but be prepared that it will not fix this issue. If you can, try to find any identifying marks on your motherboard so we can at least try and find you a schematic to help you out further.
