Dell XPS 17 not switching on

I've had this Dell XPS 17 for an year and a half so far without any problems,

then all of a sudden it switched off for no reason...And it just wont start no matter what.

It goes like this, i press the power button and the fan starts running....NOTHING ELSE happens...No lights or sounds...Just a blank screen

I had to manually remove the battery to stop the fan

I gave it to an authorized dell service center....First they said the problem was with the circuitry near the GPU...

They tried replacing it but didn't work out...Now they say I've got to change the motherboard..

Is that it? No other options???

Hi xpsl702x,

Please flee power and check if the system turns on. Click on the link below for reference:

Also check if you are able to launch diagnostics to test the hardware components of the system. Press and hold the Fn key on the keyboard and power on the computer. Refer to the following link for assistance:

If the system is not turning after discharging residual charge and if the system fails to launch diagnostics, as informed by the technician, I suspect it is a motherboard failure.
