Dell inspiron 1464 keeps restarting

My Dell inspiron 1464 laptop will load up the Dell part of the intro, but in the intro of starting windows, only the text starting windows will appear and the computer will reset to the Dell intro. I have tried restoring the computer, but the restore points do not work. I do not mind reseting and deleting the computer data, as long as it works.

Hi,

Does the machine loads into safemode??

If possible run the diagnostics from the f12 menu.

Sorry about the late reply.

This is not the answer to your question, but I thought you should know this. Before your response, I messed around with the computer a bit and managed to get in by using the memory test but now instead of rebooting, it just freezes at the windows boot up.

Now I have tried out safe mode before and after, but only the diagnostics after. Originally the computer would just restart when attempting to run safe mode, but now it just freezes. I ran the diagnostics and the first part ran alright. So I went further and it said: Error Code 3700:011B. Msg. PROCESSOR_FAN - The fan speed is incorrect and Error Code 0F00:133C. Msg. DISK - No suitable disk media is present.

Hi,
If possible could you please try this hard drive on a different machine.
We are suspecting it could be a hardware  issue, but before we would conclude that, you can try doing a fresh windows installation.

Sorry the delay.

So I booted the factory image from Dell's data safe local backup, but still does not work.

Do I have to get an actual disc to reset it or would the method I used work?

I also tried to get the hard drive out but a screw is causing some trouble so I won't be able to report about that until later.

So I removed the hard drive and put it into a coolmax and it was detected by my pc, but after the driver sequence nothing else showed up.

We need a windows disc for installation.
You can you any Dell OEM windows disc of any machine. Once we give it a try we can conclude whether it was a hardware or a software issue.

All there was the Drivers and Utilities disc. Where could I find the OEM windows disc? This is the only dell computer I have so there are not other computers I can look at.

No. Probably will have to buy the disc. But if that is the case, I would prefer just getting a new laptop.

I will try to mess around with it a bit more, but I am not really in the position to buy anything for it.

Still, thank you for your time, and if I do decide to try using a disc, I will notify you if you want me to.
