Dell latitude D620 charging
I have a D610 and the following is the problem.
when I conect the power lead the indicator shows 73% Available (plugged in not charging)
I have tried the following
1 Unplugged the power cable and removed the battery,held down the power button for 30secs
and let go Reconected the battery and power. Did not work.
2 Left the power cable plugged in removed the battery, left for 30 mins, replaced the battery
still reads (plugged in not charging) But when I am using the laptop the charge indicator fig still
stays the same ie:- if it was reading 80% it would stay at 80% I took the power cable out and used the computer the power went down to 73% Available (Plugged in not charging)
What can I try now

Hi Riby,
Welcome to the Community. I am kinda confused, on the heading you say you have a D620, and below you say its a D610. I sugguest you first update your Bios, if that does not work, Press the F2 key at the Dell logo on startup to enter the Bios, check what it says next to AC Adapter and Battery, if it says unknown device next to any of them then try a different AC adapter or Battery, it still says the same in the Bios, then you will need to have the motherboard replaced.

Does the BIOS (F2 at powerup) recognize the AC adapter, or is it listed as "unknown"?

After watching this video:
http://youtu.be/p5s9guCcRmw I decided to try it. I had already tried everything else!
After slicing open the outer casing, I could see an orange spot in the center.
So I dug out the silicon and sure enough, the tiny center wire had broken and rusted!
Took it to our tv repairman, he soldered it and altho it did power up the laptop it did not fix the issue.
I ordered an authentic Dell replacement adapter and now have two fully charged, operational, and bios-recognized batteries!
(AC Adapter is also bios-recognized)
