Dell latitude c540/c640 model pp01l
Hi i bought this laptop online mostly just to put music on my ipod cause ive got an ipad. but i did not read the information propertly and i wont turn on. so i want back to the add and it says there is no os installed or leience. Does anybody know how i get get this stuff and how expensive it is .thank you

when i turn it on i just get a black screen saying it cant boot. I only paid about 50 quid so i shoulda known but as i say it will probly only be used 2 or 3 times a month.

First thing to check is whether the system has a hard drive -- F2 at powerup to get into BIOS setup. If there's no hard drive listed, you'll need that (figure on $50 or so for a new drive). You'll also need to purchase a Windows license if you want to run Windows - and since XP is no longer supported, that means a copy of Windows 7 as well.

Hi thank you for the reply ok i did that and it says primary hardive 20gb so im sure i have one of them lol ill have a look at buying windows 7
