Dell vs. Sony Vaio

I really need some advice on purchasing a notebook. I actually made a dell purchase a week ago on a dell inspiron 9300. It hasn't arrived as yet, but I'm seriously considering cancelling it. What I really want is a sony vaio, but the graphics card is better on the dell, so that is what's keeping me from getting the Vaio. What I really want this notebook for is to play my Sims2 and both the expansion packs. I have the Sims2 installed on my desktop, but it runs slow and it takes forever to load, so the reason I'm getting a new computer is to see improvements in those areas when I play my sims game, but I don't want another desktop, that's why I'm getting a laptop. I'm going to post the specs for both computers below, please let me know which one you think is a better notebook overall and if you think I'll be able to run my Sims game faster and have it load faster. Thanks in advance, you're help with this will be greatly appreciated.

I think the Dell is your better deal. And as much as you may hear about service problems with Dell, Sony is much worse in my opinion.

Your Dell has very good specs and should be a fine laptop. You have some time to try it and return it if necessary. I would certainly try it first, and I agree that Sony service is lower rated than Dell. I would not have less than a 3 year on-site contract on any laptop though.

I just got my 9300 last week and its great, even better then I thought it'd be, that screen is awesome. The Sims will play smooth as silk on it. Better graphics card, better hard drive, then that Sony. The Media Center XP is nice too. Watch, record, rewind live TV, nice. I wouldn't think twice about the choice, keep the Dell forget the Sony. This is my 3rd Dell, zero problems with any of them.

having the dell 9300 and also having experience with vaio i would choose dell anyday, anytime. not only are the specs better in the dell but you would be definelt granted better service by dell.

I think a better comparison of models between Sony and the Dell I9300, would be to consider the Vaio VGN-BX197XP.
