Dell xps l502x dinosaur driver issue. pci bus 5 device 0 function 0

Had to rebuild my xps l502x since it's been 5 months out of warranty and crashes due to overheating were starting to bother me.

Cleaned the entire computer up, threw it all back together and for some reason taskbar icons don't have pictures, volume mixer controls don't open, and I've got 3 "missing" base system devices that all say PCI bus 5 driver 0 function 0.

Are these related? and how do I solve this problem?

Hi gcustoms,

Please share the Operating System installed. It appears that the Chipset drivers are missing. Here are the steps that you may follow to install the drivers:

  • Click on the link http://dell.to/18NmI2D.
  • Enter the Service Tag of your system and select the operating system.
  • Under the Chipset section, you will find the following set of drivers that you need to install:

    • Intel Huron River (HM67)
    • Renesas USB 3.0 Host Controller Driver
    • JMicron JMB389 Card Reader

Restart the system and check if the issue still persist. If yes, then share the screen shot of the Device Manager with all the devices expanded so that I can share the correct set of drivers with you. Here are the steps to access Device Manager:

  • Press the key combination Windows Logo key + R key to open Run dialog box.
  • Type in devmgmt.msc and click OK.
  • The Device Manager windows will appear.
  • Click on the sign next to Network Adapters and expand it.

Hope this helps. Please reply with the results.
