Display brightness is always 100% when reactivated from power/energy saving mode
Hi,
I have a Latitude D530. Using the function keys I decrease the brightness of the display. After a few minutes the display is switched off to save energy. If I then reactivate the display the brightness is always 100% again and i always have to manually decrease it again. I have checked other Latitude models at work and there they come back from energy saving with the same brighness as before. Why is this not working on my device? Any idea? Do I need to install one of the Dell tools?
Regards,

You can fix the problem by installing the latest version of Video driver and Quickset software (despite windows 7 seeing and automatically installing video driver )
Video Drivers:
For Windows 7 32 bit:
http://ftp.us.dell.com/video/INTEL_GM965-EXPRESS-CHIPSET-_A01_R256481.exe
For Windows 7 64 bit:
http://ftp.us.dell.com/video/INTEL_GM965-EXPRESS-CHIPSET-_A01_R256482.exe
Latest QuickSet:
For Windows 7 32 bit:
http://ftp.us.dell.com/app/R180762.exe
For Windows 7 64 bit:
http://ftp.us.dell.com/app/R182249.exe
That will restore the Fn+(page up/down) functionality.
