Driver Detection Not Available

I went to the driver update page as I have in the past and this time it gave me an error of "Driver detection not available."  Please advise.

Same thing has been happening for me on multiple systems starting at approximately 07:30, CST, and as recently as a few minutes ago.

I've tried it on Edge, Explorer, and Chrome, and still cannot detect anything.  Please advise.  I'd like to update my drivers.  Hello?  Anyone from Dell?

I have the same problem. I don't think the Dell update software works either - it searches for a few seconds, tells me my system is up to date and then reschedules the check.

I got fed up with it and went to the Dell website did the driver detection check and it returns the message 'Driver detection not available'

In the end I searched it manually and I had numerous updates that needed installing that weren't detected by the installed Dell update software or through the dell website using driver detect

My System: Dell XPS 2015 (5th gen intel) with Windows 10

You did the correct thing. NEVER use a Driver Detection/Update program, even Dell's. Checking each driver individually is the best way. However, most of the time, drivers (as well as the BIOS) DO NOT need to be routinely updated. If you are having a problem with some issue, then consider a driver update, but only if the update is reported to help the problem. Most experts, not on these Forums, recommend that you do not do wholesale driver updates. Even when upgrading the OS, as with Win 10 upgrades, DO NOT upgrade any drivers prior to the upgrade. Win 10 will install replacements for any incompatible drivers. Then, if there are issues with a particular piece of hardware, such as the video, then look for an updated driver. Many here recommend doing all updates prior to the upgrade; don't do it.

I don't disagree with this as a general rule, KirkD, but I am concerned that the program fails to work entirely.
I've have a number of issues with my XPS 8700 since I received it, with constant crashes since updating from Windows 8.1 to 10, so I've restored Windows 8.1 5 times and upgraded to Windows 10 3 times. After the stock install and upgrade to 10 I've never been able to get the Driver Update function to work. In fact the first full restore caused Windows Update to completely fail, as well.  Basically nothing would install then, so it got quite frustrating.

Now I am running Win 10 again and this is one of the few issues that remains besides the crash, which I have a workaround for. I guess I'm just concerned about a general issues like this being a running problem across multiple systems, is all.

I'm not clear about how you are doing driver updates. I would NEVER do a complete driver update before the Win update. It is not necessary, and can cause problems. I have done six updates so far to Win 10 andfive to TH2 and have had to do a few driver update s AFTER the updates. Have you tried the Win10 TH2 ISO to do the upgrade? Win 10 has provably now over 1 million driver updates included in the uograde. Too many people are recommending all driver and BIOS updates before the upgrade. Ignore this.

Dell System Detect Driver Update doesn't automatically install updates, it merely lists suggestions of driver updates compared to the installed system.  One can decide which ones they want to update.

Don't work on 5480 as well.

Automatic driver update is one of the basic thing should work.

User don't need to spend time and update it manually!
