E1505 doesn't power up with AC
My laptop is 3 years old and battery was replaced 6 months ago. Yesterday, the system would not power up. Nothing. I checked the AC adapter and the green light was not lit. I unplugged the adapter from the laptop and the wall, and plugged it back into the wall-- the adapter lit up; as soon as I connected to the laptop, the green light on the adapter went off.
The battery is completely drained, so no lights appear at all.
ANY clues???

Also, I do have the old battery, and assume if I can get that charged elsewhere, I could use it on a temporary basis, and it WOULD power up the system.
Or, would that just amount to a further waste of time?
